Lars Røhnebæk reviews Dalen Wood machine 2054

Very little maintenance!

It is Lars Røhnebæk from Kløfta who says this when he reviews Dalen Wood machine 2054. He produces 500m3 wood every year, and delivers both in small sack and bulk, and is experiencing very high demand in the market. Here it is produced in both rain and sun, as the machine has superstructures.

He has been a farmer for 40 years, but in 2009 he sold the 650-acre farm. None of the children wanted to take it over, which is why it was sold to one from the village. This year he has used 600 – 700 working hours for wood production.

He is very pleased with the 2054 machine he uses in wood production. The last Dalen The machine got him four seasons ago and has produced 2,000 cubic meters of it.

Going and going

Røhnebæk has worked extensively with combine harvesters for many years and says: – If we compare the maintenance of the wood-top machine with the maintenance of a combine harvester, which runs 3-4 weeks a year, it is incredibly little maintenance! The wood machine goes and goes and goes.

"Speed also means a lot to me. I have tried other machines, but Dalen twice as fast. A few years ago we were exposed to fire on the farm, but the wood machine also survived this. When all the hydraulic hoses on the machine were replaced, the machine was just as good," he says.

Røhnebæk has many of the same customers year after year, and in advance of the season he sends out 350 SMS with offers. Some customers he's had for 15 years.

The market for wood he is experiencing better than ever, and last year he ran out of by already the first week of December. He is experiencing ever greater demand.

Profitable tarpaulin

He is a member of "Norsk Ved", which is why information about him is on their websites, and he does not advertise in the media. When people call and offer various favorable advertising, he declines.

I have to have something to sell, and I have the most profitable tarpaulin in the country," he says with a smile. It drives 10-15,000 cars past on the E6 at Kløfta, and everyone can see his tarpaulin hanging on the tractor hanger.

Most of the orders I get in via SMS. Then the customer writes the name, address, phone number and amount they want to buy. I call the day before delivery and arrange time and place. I have a payment terminal and those who are not at home get the bill in the mail. It is fast and efficient operation.

Storage of the wood

I use "wood cages" for storing and drying the wood. Initially, these were used for the transport of chemicals, but when the plastic containers were removed they were well suited for wood storage. I started with this storage system 5-6 years ago and am very pleased with it. There are 17 sacks of 60 litres in each cage," he says.

In the past, he has only delivered the wood in small sacks. This year is the first year he delivers in bulk, and he has two followers that he fills with by and drives around and tips in front of the garage to the customer. To have the wood delivered to the yard for free, they must order a minimum of 3 "wood cages". People also come to the farm and pick up the wood themselves.

I guess I can endure a few more years if I don't have to lift bags. It is difficult to handle 10,000 sacks," concludes the avid wood manufacturer.
